This page is the door to information on North Foothills planning.  At present, there are 5 public planning process ongoing that include this area. Added to these are the know proposals, concepts and plans of the major landowners in the foothills, and NACFA’s recent effort to “enter the fray” by suggesting a broad land use concept that could help unify all these “threads”. 

All these planning efforts are listed below, each with an accompanying page on which the latest information is provided:

  • NACFA ConceptOur suggestions on how a “win-win” might be achieved between our objectives and those of the landowner/developers.
  • The Land and the Landowners:  Including an overview of North Foothills ownership and the broad outlines of landowner plans, concepts, proposals, or potential development.
  • Ada County:  Preparing a North Foothills Sub-Area Plan as part of the broader County Comprehensive Plan update process
  • City of Eagle:  Conducting its own visioning and land use/scenario studies for the North Foothills, intended to make sure the City’s interests are fully considered and take what the County is preparing (in its Sub-Area Plan) the next step in terms of detail on where development v. open space/habitat/recreation will occur, how traffic from development will be handled, and other concerns.
  • ACHD:  Preparing a master roads/transportation plan for the North Foothills, to be based on land use/development program information emerging from the Ada County Sub-Area Plan and/or the Eagle North Foothills Visioning effort
  • Regional/Compass:  Two large-scale, transportation-oriented studies that include the North Foothills: Communities-In-Motion and Blueprint for Good Growth
